2) Using all of the following sources – the chapters ‘Indigenous Ways of Knowing’, ‘Learning from Indigenous Knowledge in Education,’ ’All Our Relations: Aboriginal Perspectives on Environmental Issues in Canada,’ and the videos of Larry Merculieff’s ‘Native Knowing,’ and the short videos demonstrating place-based learning answer the following questions.

A) Discuss/define Indigenous knowing/learning and methods of instruction? (3)

B) How has the displacement of Indigenous peoples and the dispossession of traditional territories through colonization impacted both the Indigenous ‘teacher’ and the learner? (3)

C) Discuss some benefits to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous children in incorporating an applicable place-based learning model in the classroom. (3)

3) Most of the chapters and videos we have examined this semester are inclusive of the role and power of stories in the lives of Indigenous people. Discuss the power of ‘stories’ in the lives of Indigenous people pre and post-colonization.
