Motivational theories come in handy when the workers’ morale is down, and an organization requires innovative ideas for improving performance (Huggins, Prokop & Thompson, 2017, P. 367). In essence, motivation theories are designed to improve employees’ mental wellness to create a healthy and conducive working environment. Motivation theories are diverse, from the McGregor’s X and Y Theory to Maslow Hierarchy and Vroom perspective. The choice of a motivation theory primarily relies on the perspective of business leadership and the circumstance of the tasks.
