Choose an organization to study. You may use the organization for which you work, an organization related to your field, or one you may be interested in working for in the future. Conduct research to find the organization’s vision, mission, values and ethics codes, social accountability and stewardship values, and governance models used. Identify the organization and include the information you discovered in your research in your initial post as well.
NCHL Health Leadership Competency Model aims at laying a foundation for leadership assessment and development application (National Center for Healthcare Leadership, 2018). Five competencies provided by NCHL that highlight my strength include accountability, analytical thinking, communication skills, innovative thinking, and organizational awareness. The strengths are important in delivering quality work and meeting the organizational goals. In the future, I would love to work for Mayo Clinic, a nonprofit medical research center located in Minnesota.
Professional Health Care Mission
The mission of Mayo Clinic Organization is “to inspire hope, and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education and research” (Mayo Clinic, 2018). The vision, on the other hand, is to provide unparalleled experience and become the most trusted partner for health care. The values of the organization seek to meet the needs of the patients before anything else. The four principles of health care ethics guide workers at Mayo Clinic which include respect for autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice. The stewardship statement aims at sustaining the organization’s mission through managing human beings wisely and natural and material resources. The organization’s goals go hand in hand with my principles and ambition.
