The authors state that social media is very informative for defining public perception on how both genders should appear. The author’s focus in this study had an objective to support the relationship between self-confidence, looking-slimmer, and media usage among both sexes. The results appeared that social media has a remarkable influence on the drive for thinness. Additionally, the authors describe that social influence illustrated in social media sites was the main indicator of women’s slimness. On the other hand, internalization in social media use was the main indicator for men’s’ drive for thinness.
