When producing minutes for a business meeting it is required that formal language is used. This is because minutes are records that are stored for business use. Minutes could be later used by an employee, as evidence to show a meeting has taken place or used in another discussion with other professionals. Formal language makes minutes of a meeting clear and make sense. The tone required for meeting minutes must be serious and formal.
They do not need to be persuasive or intriguing, as they are a set record of the discussion within a meeting so they just need to be clear and understandable. The image of a set of minutes should include in the organisations set logo, colours and themes. This is so that it is easily recognisable as the organisations document.
The presentation of a set of minutes must be structured into different agenda items, which may be in a table or just simple paragraphs so that the document is clear and people can easily navigate the parts they need to read.When writing an email, the language should be formal. This only tends to vary when the audience changes. For example, if an employee was to email another colleague, they may be friendlier and slightly informal.

Formal language should be used to internal and external business people, so that it gives a good impression of the sender as an individual and shows professionalism of the company they work for. The tone required for emails are dependent on the recipients. For instance, when writing a sales email, a more persuasive tone will be used. When writing a complaint response, a more sympathetic and helpful tone will be used.
However, a professional tone should be maintained in emails to keep up an organisations reputation and professionalism. The image of an email should have the organisations particular style of font and email signature to make it easily identifiable by other companies. It also makes the email look more professional to make people take the company seriously. The presentation of an email is required to be structured into paragraphs with a professional greeting and closing message.
When integrating images into documents it’s important to use the format and theme to use that is the same as the businesses. It is important to think about what the business needs to accomplish and what impression needs to be given to the reader. Whilst creating the image of the document that we want to reflect well on the business, it is also important to make sure copyright laws are not being breached. Therefore images and themes should be checked to make sure it is not that of another brand or business.
A good image has to be unique and professional as it will be used often for all kinds of documents being sent to external customers and internal workers.An image can be inserted into a word document or PowerPoint by attaching an image saved onto the computer by clicking on the insert tab and pressing pictures. To easily locate the desired picture it is best to save it somewhere and name it something memorable.
Another way of integrating images into documents is to copy and paste them by right clicking on the image and pressing the copy function, then right clicking where the image needs to be copied to and pressing paste. This is the quickest option however sometimes it doesn’t always work and we have to save images to the computer instead.
Corporate identity allows documents to have their own trademark. Corporate identity makes a businesses documents look professional, draws in more customers and makes them easily recognisable. This includes the company’s logo, header and footer styles, theme colours, personalised document templates and font choice. When this is changed and updated it could affect previous documents with the outdated corporate identity by making them not recognisable as that company.
It is important the corporate identity is only amended slightly and still maintains it’s unique theme so it is always recognisable. It’s also important to notify all staff members of these changes so that everyone is using the same corporate identity to avoid confusion. To avoid breaking copy right laws, a company must ensure they have their own corporate identity that is not the same as another company.

In regards to the Data Protection Act, it is important that a persons personal information isn’t included in letters or emails unless permission is given by that person. Data stored on documents about a person must be stored safely and securely and only accessed by permitted persons. Documents including data with someones personal information must not be shared with any one other than permitted persons and must be kept strictly confidential, else this is a breach of the act.
To avoid breaching the Copyright laws, a company must not use images, ideas, or work etc. that is copyright protected. A document producer must check this before integrating images or information on to their documents. The same goes for intellectual property. Any original idea owned by someone or a company cannot be used by another person when protected by copyright.Intellectual property is something unique created by an individual or a group. To avoid breaching intellectual property legislations when producing business documents, it is important to make sure other peoples creations, e.g. names or brands are not included in the documents. This means documents must be strictly the creation of the company itself and not copied from another company’s.
Version control is when changes that are made to a file are traced with the details of who changed them, when they traced them, why they did and any problems enhanced or resolved when the change was made. Organisations do this to ensure that previous versions of a document are accessible as well as current ones to follow up problems occurring or to compare them.
Organisational procedures for version control are that employees must always record their name, the date and what changes they have made to a document so that other employees are aware. This is crucial for tracing back to old documents and comparing them to recent versions. Other organisational procedures for version control is that old documents must be maintained in case newer versions may contain errors or having missing information.
Security requirements for documents are having set passwords to gain access into a file so that only particular people have access to it. Other requirements are read only settings so that the author only has permissions to make changes to the document so that other people cannot edit and make unwanted changes to it. A document created for external use needs to have the recipient checked if any personal data is included within it to prevent breaching the data protection act if the email was to be sent to the wrong recipient. If personal data included on a document is being sent by mail, it is important the mail is stamped with ‘private and confidential’ on the front to ensure safe delivery.

At Khera Doaba stores it has a good reputation in the way of good quality merchandise. For example they can charge a higher price for a can of happy shop soup than another store around the area. A can of happy shopper in another store would cost around about 60p whereby the same can of shop at Khera Doaba stores would cost around about 90p. This is showing that the Khera Doaba store has good quality products so that they can charge higher prices. They know this because people come in and say that the product they had was very nice.
This would help achieve the aims and objectives of the business by having good quality products the business will be making profits and increasing there income, which will achieve there aim of expanding the business.  Price Businesses decide on the price of their products by considering three factors: 1. cost – cover cost and making profits  2. competition – lower price to competitors  3. Customer’s value – price customers are willing to pay. There are many ways that you can price a certain product, you can have: Competition based pricing, Marginal pricing, Cost based pricing, Cost plus pricing, Destroyer pricing and Discounter pricing.
When ever any customer comes into Khera Doaba store they can be sure that they are going to get value for money for their products. The store prices their goods based on the three Cs: cost, competition and customer value.  Cost: to make a profit, the store charges a price that covers it costs. Example, to buy a case of carling from the cash and carry it would be �11.99 + VAT; to sell the case of beer in the store they would have to make a price based on making and selling the product. In the store the price of the case of beer is �15.00, so from this they make around about 2 profit, from every case.

Competition: the store charges a price that is comprehensive with that of its competitors for most products. Example, selling a packet of walkers crisp, in a store around the corner the packet of crisp is 30p but in Khera Doaba stores the same packet of crisp is 40p. So from this there is a 10p different which could be vital with customers. A customer might not come in and buy the pack of crisp from Khera store but buy it from the store around the corner. From this the store has to look and might just have to change the price.
Customer: they determined this on the value of the product to the target market. If consumers in the target market believe that they can gain significant benefits from the product, then they will be willing to pay a high price. How ever if the product provides few benefits then they will only be prepared to pay a low price. Example, the price someone is willing to pay for a packet of cigarettes will depend on its, size or brand.
Promotion
This is a series of marketing activates designed to make consumers aware of products and to persuade them to buy those products. Promotion is a method of increasing sales of merchandise through advertising. My businesses promote them selves in 3 different ways, advertising, sales promotion, and merchandising. Advertising – my business advertises self through the news paper, leaflets and posters on doors. They have big pictures on doors (picture on right). They also have leaflets that they have given out around the areas. These leaflets are for PayPal, inviting people to come and use PayPal. Refer to appendix 9 for posters.
To get the leaflets the business paid nothing because the business made it themselves. From the advertising the company is making a lot of money because as customer are walking past the store they are looking at the poster and coming in to either pay there bills or to by products. They also have persuasive advertising that attempt consumers to purchase a particular product. They do this by saying to customer to buy a certain product for example, a can of coke, say to a customer buy a can of coke and you will get a second one free. They also advertise phone cars buy having poster on the main window of the store. For the poster please refer to appendix 12.
Sales promotion – Khera Doaba stores promotion techniques are non-personal promotional efforts that are designed to have an immediate impact on sales. Here are the stores sales promotion techniques: – coupons and money refunds   demonstrations   frequent user incentives  price off offers  point of sale material Free samples (refer to appendix) These sales promotions are all direct to the customers. They want tot sell a lot of stocks, they want to do this by having discounts on prices. If this was to happen then customer would spend more on other goods once in the store. For example, the business provides free samples of sweets so that the customer can test them and buy them.
Merchandising – the business uses many merchandising tactics. This is used by the business at the point of sale, the location at which the products are purchased, so that they can achieve a much higher sales figure. The business offers retails special display stands or point of sale adverts to encourages them to place the business product in a more favourable position within the store. This can help the business because to understand there customers. For example, if a customer comes into the store and asks for a can of coke the employee would try his hardest to sell the coke and might even take some money. This will help bring in more customers.
Point of sales (POS) – companies such as walls (ice cream company), send out promotional material to get the best from the business POS (see appendix 7 ). This in affect is POS itself. By observing appendix 7 one is able to see all varieties of walls product range/s. Both sources in appendix 7 contain statistics which is incentive to shop owners to have their products in their stores. POS is an ideal way to attract sales and improve on profits on that particular product range/s.  The picture on the right shows how they also have point of sale. The stand has products and there that are only 99p. This would improve prices because on the stand there are products that children would want to buy.
They also offer point of sales leaflets that try to make smokers stop smoking. This will have a positive and a negative affect on the business because if the customer takes this leaflet then they might read it and might stop smoking. This will have a negative affect on the business because the business will not be making money. On the other hand it will have a positive affect to customer because they will stop smoking. refer to appendix 10 for the leaflet
This will help the aims and objectives because the business will be selling products by promoting them and making larger incomes. Also this will meet the needs of customer. For example, if a customer around the area receives a leaflet in the post saying they have got PayPoint and that customer has been going to another store that is a long way a way. Then this would meet the needs o the customer because he will only have to travel around the corner to pay his/her bills. Refer to appendix 8 for point of sales leaflets that the business provides.

No, I feel that with the online business you would get more communication with the customers than with a traditional business.
I feel this way because if a traditional business’ customer has a problem with something, then they would have to go through the proper channels to get something done about what the certain issue is that they want to have corrected. If the online business customer has a problem, all they have to do is go the comment section, or the contact us button on the website and they would easily put down what their problem is. I feel that it is easier for online customers to get the problems solved in a more reasonable time than with traditional businesses. . How would you recommend that new managers at eBay establish rapport with buyers and sellers? I feel that eBay managers could establish rapport with buyers and sellers by continuing to get their input on things that they would like to change. Get the opinions of the buyers and sellers and see what they feel would be good or bad for the company. If you have a consensus of the majority, it would make their jobs as managers easier to make the necessary decisions that are necessary to make the company better as a whole.

In the world, no country has all the resources to be independent. However, they must engage in transacting business or economic activities together and this is what is referred to as international trade. International trade is a situation whereby one or more countries come together to do business in other to meet up for their inadequacies. There have been different theories propounded by various economists about why countries have to engage in international trade. Some of the theories include the comparative cost advantage and the absolute cost advantage.
This issue leads us to the main discussion of business in the international environment. In this write up, there will be extensive analysis on three countries that engage in international trade. These three countries are carefully selected from the developed, emerging and developing countries. They include, the United State of America, Brazil and Cameroon. We shall use the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) statistics to analysis the patterns of trade among these countries. Since, these countries differ in patterns of trade and the WTO’s statistics will guide us in identifying these patterns. In addition, we shall consider five imports and exports of each country. Now, we shall discuss these countries one after the other.
United States of America  

This is a developed country and their pattern of trade is export based, but the country imports mainly primary products. However, from the World Trade Organization’s statistics for 2007, it shows that the country mainly imports primary goods and services and exports manufactured goods and services. Then, what is the country’s pattern of trade? The country tends to import primary goods and services and export manufactured goods and services. Some of its imports include natural gas, petroleum products, green coffee, food oils, wool and other natural fibers while their exports include merchandized products, textiles, computers, industrial equipments and cars.
 Brazil
This is an emerging economy and its trade policy is export promotion. The country tends to export both primary and manufactured products. However, the country exports more of primary products. According to the 2007 World Trade Organization’s statistics, the country tends to export more than its import. The trade pattern of the country is to export manufactured and primary products and import both primary and manufactured products. The country’s main exports are green coffee, sugar, agricultural products and machineries, biofuel and chicken and diary products, while its imports include computers, textiles, cars, agricultural equipments and petroleum products.
Cameroon
Cameroon is a developing country pursuing various trade policies that promote the growth of the country’s economy. The country is among the poorest in the world. The country imports more than the country exports. According, to the World Trade Organization’s statistic, the country exports mainly primary products and import manufactured products. The country’s pattern of trade is importing manufactured products and export primary product. Some of its exports include Fish, tobacco, Lumber and wood, Plywood and rubber, while its imports include technologies, automobiles, natural gas, furniture products and computers.
There are various relevant international trade theories that explain why these countries trade in the various products mentioned above. These trade theories include absolute cost advantage, and comparative cost advantage. There are other trade theories, but we will only focus on these two mentioned. Moreover, in analyzing these countries trade pattern then we must have a good understanding of the theories.
Absolute cost advantage refers to the cost advantage a country enjoys in producing certain products compared to the costs of producing them in other countries. Here, the costs of producing different products differ from country to country because factors of production will certainly be cheaper in some countries than in others.
Comparative cost advantage is related to absolute cost advantage, but differs in terms of cost. However, comparative cost advantage refers to the ability of a country to product goods and services at a lower opportunity cost than other countries of the world. This theory explains how and what countries could gain from trade, since, it allows countries to know various goods and services they could produce with a fewer resources.  David Ricardo propounded this theory and he argued that countries should produce goods and services that they have comparative cost advantage.
In explaining why these three countries trade in the goods and services they trade depends on the resources they have. Since, no country has all the resources needed to survive and then must engage in international trade. Then the three countries mention above followed the two theories of absolute cost and comparative cost advantage. For instance, Brazil is a country that has more comparative cost advantage of producing coffee and agricultural product then the other two countries.
They product more of these product and exports them to the United State of America. Another scenario is that of the USA that has more comparative cost advantage of producing manufactured goods like computers that the country exports to the other two countries. Considering absolute cost advantage, two or three of the countries produce one or more common goods. Besides, each one has the absolute cost of producing these goods. However, they enjoyed comparative cost advantage than the other. Example of this is Brazil and Cameroon that export green coffee. Brazil enjoys comparative advantage, while Cameroon only enjoys the absolute cost advantage of producing the good.
In a way, these countries benefit from trading the way they do. Since they all enjoy comparative cost and absolute cost advantage we could conclude they benefit from the way they trade. For example, though Brazil enjoys comparative cost advantage of producing green coffee than Cameroon, both countries benefit from the trade. Cameroon enjoys the absolute cost advantage, while Brazil enjoys the comparative cost advantage.  We could conclude in a way that all the three countries benefits from the way they trade if we look at the statistics and information from ‘GlobalEdge’ and the World Trade Organization websites.
Conversely, in future these countries would face different kinds of challenges in trading with one another. Such challenges could include the issue associated with tariffs, contradiction in the trade policies, unfavorable terms of trade and retard growth in the economy. The issue of tariffs is one of the problems or challenges that each country could face in trading with one another. In recent time, these countries have made some critical changes in their trade policies that affect their tariffs.
This in a way will influence the terms of trade of each countries and influence their growth. Cameroon will be more affected, since the country is developing and export mainly primary product. In addition, the country may face unfavorable trade patterns because they import more than they export. They also import more of manufactured goods to primary goods that they exports. Also, the country could retard in terms of economy growth. However, no country is left out in facing certain challenges.
Moreover, the government of these countries could enact policies that may be favorable to their economy.  The developing and the emerging countries should pursue import substitution industrialization and export promotion strategy. United States of America should continue to promote their trading strategies and look for other innovative ones.
A country like Cameroon that import manufactured goods and export mainly primary product should enact export promotion strategy. This country could also pursue import substitution industrialization in other to encourage and promote the domestic industries.
Brazil on its part should continue to pursue export promotion strategy that will promote the local industries and thereby leading to economic development. Since, this will lead to favorable terms of trade and promote productivity on the part of the local industries.
In conclusion, we should understand that countries of the world dependent on others for some resources. In essence, no country is resource independent. Therefore, countries must engage in international trade. However, there are different trade policies that guide the ways countries trade between one another. Finally, countries should pursue policy that will promote their economy, thereby leading to economic development.

This only means that, even if you are a woman or a man, there is an equal chance for you to be promoted, have equal freedom to express yourself and have equal opportunity to assume higher positions in the company. Americans do not relate gender to the potential performance of an individual. On the other hand, Brazilians seems to become so sensitive when it comes to considering the type of gender an individual has before giving the said person respect and/or accept his/her authority.
Generally, most of the Brazilians treat their men as superior and knowledgeable as compared to Brazilian women. Meaning, Brazilian men has always been given priority in every gender role in the Brazilian society. In the line of business, Brazilian women accept that fact that Brazilian men will always have the higher positions in the company and oftentimes, what is being left for women is the position of the secretary or any other lower corporate position.

It is clear that this is already a kind of gender discrimination- depriving women to assume higher positions in a company despite her performance and skills in handling the said position. In business meetings, Brazilian women are being expected to wear attires that will emphasize their femininity and this could be achieved through the design of the attire as well as using make-up to get the attention of Brazilian men (Victor, 2006).
This is very much different in the context of American culture since American women has a more formal design of attire regardless the level of its femininity as compared with that of the Brazilian women. It would be also advisable for Brazilian women to wear skirts and high heals in order to high light their femininity which Brazilian men always wanted to see to the former. Moreover, during a meeting, women are being heard less as compared to men. Opinions of a Brazilian man have a premium over the opinions of Brazilian women even if the opinion of the latter is more feasible.
In other words, between the words of a Brazilian man and a Brazilian woman, it is the word of the former which will be heard by the board or the CEO even if the word of the latter is more feasible and realistic as compared to the words of a Brazilian man. On the other hand, in the American culture, it is the quality of the proposal or opinion that serves to be the basis of recognition and not the gender since, as what I have already said a while ago, American men and women have equal chances of being recognize the have the same sets of rights.
To some degree, we could say that, Americans are more productive and efficient as compared to Brazilians since the former base their judgment on the output not on the gender. These are the reasons why multinational companies, when making business deal with Brazilians, must send a male representative than with a female in order to have a greater chance of closing the deal. Brazilian men do not want the feeling of being overpowered by women regardless of its origin and nationality.
It was a shame on their part to be lectured by women or was not able to solve a company problem until such female representative from other international branch came. With the patriarchal society Brazilian has, it would be very hard on the part of the Brazilian women to oppose this said kind of social structure and same goes to American women who used to work in Brazil (DeBiaggi, 2001). Actually, it is not only in Brazil where this kind of discrimination takes place, other Latin American countries also exhibit this kind of social condition where women are being treated as next to men.
They never experience equal right on their home, school and even offices. Moreover, the situation becomes worse due to the lax policies of the Brazilian government to address the said kind of discrimination from their women (United Nation, 2003).
