2. Cyber security and election interference
3. Gender equality
4. Trade diversification and sanctions
5. Oil, environment and indigenous rights
6. International Olympic Committee (IOC) rules
2) Your 3 Policy Brief options

 

What are Canada’s foreign policy priorities?

Canada policies
• Provide preliminary/initial/brainstorm policy options that the Canadian Prime Minister
should consider
• 2-4 sentences or bullet points: enough to make clear what you are going to assert as a
policy option
• Don’t need to decide your preferred policy option as this point
3) Provide a Bibliography:
a) Identify and access the following types and numbers of resources from 2010 onwards
(important to find current research!):
i) Minimum 6 Government information sources, Think Tanks, Research Institutes
and/or NGO resources (also ‘Grey Literature’)
ii) Minimum 6 Research articles (Academic sources)
iii) à NOTE: Wikipedia, newspapers/news websites, social media postings, news
magazines, etc., are not acceptable for this assignment (still, they can be useful for
background information)
b) Follow Chicago style guide posted on the class OWL site
i) Consistent use of the style, and accurate presentation of information
ii) Follow correct formatting including proper indentation, correct punctuation, correct
use of italics or underlining, and correct order of information
c) List in Bibliography by type of source: Grey Literature & Academic
iii) Alphabetize your Sources in each of the sub-lists
iv) While this is not who your Brief’s Bibliography must be done, for the CFPBBO, this
will ensure you have the right number & right type of source listed
