Basic of Social Science Research.

Measurements are a fundamental in scientific research. In order to become familiar with the process of measurements and apply the process in your own research, you will analyze and critically evaluate the measurement process of the State Fragility Index.  After you have analyzed the index, you are then required to select two countries from the list below and perform a thorough analysis describing and explaining the country’s level of vulnerability to conflict or collapse. After you select your countries you must get approval from me before proceeding any further.

Basic of Social Science Research

Your case study must address the following points:

• First, you must analyze how state fragility is conceptualized.
• Second, you must critically evaluate the steps in the operationalization of the measure—in other words, how is that concept measured?
• Third, you must select two country cases from the list below and perform a thorough comparative analysis of the cases.

Notes: The submitted case study must be between 5-7 pages in length (or between 1900-2500 words). The text should be double spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman, normal 1-inch margins.  Shorter studies will be penalized.
