Analyze and apply theories of politics and society to contemporary politics. In your paper, you must analyze at least five of the Republican presidential candidates
running in the primary. Then you must give an analysis of why the Republican primary
has become such a fracas.
Election Summary
Have a short paragraph or two stating what are the salient issues in this election for any
voter (Republican, Democrat, or independent). Order them starting from the most
important issue to the least important.
Candidate Introductions
First, your task will be to explain who they are and what they are all about. What are their
most important policy proposals? Who are the people who support them? For example,
what type of person might be a Trump supporter? What type of person would support
Chris Christie? You should pick candidates who are different enough from one another
that you can make such a distinction.
